I’ve worked with and for those with disabilities my entire life. I totally love it. It gave me a much better understanding of the disabled population. They are more honest and compassionate about things than the general population. They have nothing to hide and it doesn’t matter what their disability is, they are there to offer a lending hand if they can help. I think more people can learn from the disabled population if they would just listen and talk to some of them instead of judging them for their disability. They tend to work harder to get things done because they seem to think they have to prove something and to me that is wrong. I’ve seen them work hard while some co-workers sit and joke around instead of helping co-workers out.

It really helps to remember at all times that a)we ALL have disabilities of one sort or another, to one degree or another… and we ALL work around, in spite of, and taking account of, them (think about it) and b)what counts isn’t the disability at all, but the abilities that person has, what they CAN do, where, when, how, etc. and what they WANT to do. These are questions every one of us struggles with. Just take a look at how many times on Quora we see questions about ‘how to choose the right job, career, profession, etc.’ Everyone needs and deserves support getting to the right spot for them. Today, especially, with all the tech support, etc., this is thankfully easier and easier for more and more people no matter what they don’t like doing or have trouble doing - there are just way more choices and way more ways of working.
